The Stamping Chef challenge time again

Time really is going too fast.  Time for another challenge over at The Stamping Chef blog .  A chance to win some of Tamara's amazing digi images.

For my make I used one of the amazing full kits available here. The image is called Fantine, oh deer , my dear . The kit includes ; background, Lace doily, sentiment, folded ribbon, button with string, paper flower.

This time I decided to make a wall or door hanging.  I used kraft card as the base for it and for doing die cuts of snow-flakes and reindeer, along with punching some edge detailing.  To go with the colours of the pack I chose soft pinks and browns for the image and used pro-markers.

I hope that you like my make and come over to join in the 'anything goes' challenge xx

Challenge entry for Paperbabe

Time again for me to enter another Paperbabe challenge.  If you haven't seen any of their stamps or digi's , please have a look.

The stamp I used is called 'MayLeeDee frost fairy' , Instead of colouring her as a good fairy I decided to try a little of the dark side.  Coloured in pro-markers.

I then stamped skulls from Visible Image and one of their Sentiment stamps.

I hope some more of you crafter's come and join the challenge.

The Stamping Chef Challenge

wow... that went fast, challenge time again at The Stamping Chef, with the 'anything goes' theme.  Don't forget you don't have to use a TSC image, but we'd love it if you do.

I am sooooooooo in love with this adorable digi image from TSC  called 'Prickly', it can be found here

I used some yummy kraft card from Creata and some of the DCWV card stock, all used with dies cuts. The delicious digi was coloured with pro-markers and I used several different distress inks for the leaves and conker.  The leaves and conker on its own, along with the sentiment are from a set of stamps from Paperbabe and can be found here.

I hope you come and join in the challenge fun at The Stamping Chef Challenge blog xx

Once you've checked out my card why not pop over and see what the other design team members have made;

sassy challenge

Time to enter a challenge I think.  The card I've made is using a fabulous Sassy Studio Design digi. Available from their store.

I'm entering into this challenge  the theme being 'back in black'.

I used an 8x8 card blank, black cardstock, Creata metallic card, Tonic die and  TatteredLace die.  The digi was coloured with pro-markers.  I then added ribbons, skull and chain, mini bottle full of a magic potion of course and hat pins and black dazzler x

The Stamping Chef

My first DT card for The Stamping Chef !!

I was over the moon to be asked to be part of the amazing design team that show Tamara's work. I hope you like the card I made and feel inspired to come and join in the blog challenge.

The digi image I chose is called 'Sirena' and is available from here.http://thestampingchef.com/Shop/downloads/sirena/

At the moment there are lots of nautical craft sets about to use with this amazing image, lots of papers and dies from various places.

I started off with an 8x8 card blank and added cor'dinations card stock. I also used papers from the 'under the sea' paper pad from Joy crafts and embossed some of the 'whitewash' cor'dinations card stock, using a bubbles embossing folder, then sanded for definition.

Lots of die cut shells and sequin waste along with different shades of blue pearls were added as bubbles.
For the fantastic Sirena, she was coloured in pro-markers.

Don't forget to come and enter the 'anything goes' challenge.  Why not pop along and see what the rest of the Design Team have made.

Used the 'knitting' set of stamps from Paperbabe, which can be found here.  The digi image is from The Paper Shelter.

The challenge can be found here.  happy crafting x

Have had time to play and enter a couple of challenges this month.  Here is my card for the Dillybeans challenge.

I have to admit the image is one of my faves and have used it on many cards.  pop along to the Dillybeans shop to see what they have.  Or enter the challenge x

I used just the 'dusty concord' distress ink by Tim Holtz and the stamps for the background are from Visible Image.

This has been entered into the following challenge

craftwork cards

How very rude of me, I've realised I haven't posted a few recent makes using the quality products that are Craftwork Cards . Why not pop along to their facebook group and join in all the fun x

I've used papers from many of their different kits and the beloved Creata kraft card, dies and mirror card.

To check out the Craftwork Cards products please look at Create and Craft or direct to Craftwork cards x

dejavu

As I had fun playing with lots of stamps on the previous make I decided to copy the look with a few changes :)

All stamps used were from the fantastic Visible Image. I used Tim Holtz distress inks; shabby shutters and peeled paint.  Then used pro0markers of a similar tone to colour the main image.

I am entering this into Visible Images current blog challenge x

happy dance time

I'm sooooo very happy to have been asked to join The Stamping Chef design team, in fact I am grinning like a Cheshire cat.

I just had to celebrate with a card using one of their stunning images; Coffin' break

 http://thestampingchef.com/Shop/downloads/coffin-break/

The amazing image was coloured with pro-markers, and gems were added to the coffin lining to give it some 'bling'.  I used dark green mirror card (Creata) and several stamps from Visible Image to create the backgrounds and sentiment.

Then added a ribbon and chain with skulls (pssst an Asda bargain).

I hope you like it and that you will come over and check out The Stamping Chef challenge blog ; http://thestampingchef.com/Challenges/

today's make

Can quite easily say I'm hooked on using Paperbabe.  The image I used can be found at;

 https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/PaperbabeStamps .

The challenge was to use certain colours with a colour block as inspiration.  The image was coloured using pro-markers.

I used an 8x8 blank card and layered up Creata mirror card with card from Anne Marie Designs.  The sentiment is from another stamp set by Paperbabe and the flowers are a Sheena Douglas set that i've added faux stitching on.

paperbabe stamps

Well, for family reasons had a bit of a break in crafting.  Back now!!  Here are two recent makes using the same flower stamp from Paperbabe .

The above card was made by stamping the flower several times and layering it up.  I wanted the image to be the main focus so just embossed the white card for a subtle background.  The wording is from a Visible Image stamp set x

This time was fun time, pro-marker's, spectrum noir pencils, lace and die cuts, wanted the card to have a Spanish feel to it. If you like the flower image check out ; paperbabe https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/202410750/large-peony-bud-paperbabe-stamps-red?ref=shop_home_active_2

play time

The above card was made for a Creata challenge.  The theme was 'based on a song' and I chose 'bed of roses' by Bon Jovi.  The card is an 8x8 .  I added red Creata metallic card and used Creata heart stamps that were coloured using three different reds.  The image is from the East wind. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/theeastwind?section_id=15451995&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1  again coloured in pro-markers using minimal colours.

The adorable image above is from Polkadoodles http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=6857  I have coloured the image with pro-markers.  I have used Creata mirror card and papers, I chose clashing colours of bright green and turquoise.  The baubles and snowman are Creata dies and the sentiment is from Sam Poole. http://www.creative-studios.co.uk/shop/
I will be entering this card into the  polkadoodles challenge  x

mm card kits?

Ok I know a lot of you crafter's are probably shouting at your laptops now... but, card kits don't mean someone is cheating.  They can add their own embellishments, change the style and design of the card... the list goes on.

I've used the following for some cards made for charity, these mainly use the items from the kit, others to follow will be used alongside other products.

This particular set is from Hobbyhouse

It can be a fun set for both the novice card maker and the pro.. so don't be a card kit snob... we still have time to get inky :)

Sunday 3 August 2014

Polkadoodle clash of colours

mmmm colours that shouldn't go together... well for my entry I chose pink and orange.  Unlike me I went for the subtle shades with just a touch of vibrant.

The papers, sentiment and flowers are all taken from Polkadoodle discs.  The flowers were then embossed to give a bit more texture to them.  I added pearls and gems for a bit more detailing and used a tonic die for punched detail.

Hope this quick make puts a smile on your face .

This will be entered into the  Polkadoodles challenge.

Sisters of Craft new challenge

Another month gone by so fast.  So happy with all the fantastic crafter's that have been joining in the fun so far .

The sponsor for this months 'anything goes' challenge is the fantastic Scrapper's Delight. The image I've chosen to work with is here  http://scrappersdelights.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=89_97&products_id=637

Yep a Christmas card, thought I'd better make a start on them.  I used a cream 8x8 card blank and layered up with kraft card and christmas papers from Hobby House (Nordic collection).  The edges were distressed and slightly folded over.  I also used some of the corrugated card from Creata direct for extra texture and used one of their reindeer dies.  The image itself was coloured with pro-markers keeping the colours minimal.  String and buttons were from my craft stash.

sisters of craft July challenge

Already another month gone and a big thankyou to all who have taken part in our challenge blog up to now.

This time we are sponsored by the amazing Aurora Wings .

Here is my DT card ... I've been playing about with my camera and trying different techniques, so please bare with me.

I couldn't resist this amazing digi image and wanted it to be the main focus of the card.  I used Creata mirror card layered with normal white smooth cardstock, which I stamped using distress ink and a Visible Image stamp.

I then coloured the image using pro-markers and Spectrum Noir pencils.  The flower stamp is actually meant to be a poinsettia from Sam Poole's Christmas stamp set available  from;
 http://www.creative-studios.co.uk/shop/  I coloured these again using pro-markers mixing colours for a bit of a tie-dye effect.

I hope you will come and join in our challenge at;

two recent makes

MMM first one was quite hard to make, not physically but emotionally as it was for a relative for their dad and with losing my dad this year i'd wanted to avoid the whole father's day thing.... selfish, I know..

Anyway I used one of Sam Poole's amazing stamps... the lighthouse and the sentiment .... I also used an Andy Skinner stamp for the birds in flight.  Distress inks were used and then a brush with a touch of water.

I wanted some texture hence the hessian, the bottle was a bargain buy in a set of six  from 'the works' for 99p!!  For the driftwood and bleached effect seaweed I cheated and used some of a pot pourri set from Asda.  Nothing is safe when it comes to crafting lol.

The next make was a quickie using a Papermania kit from Do-Crafts which I got via Create and Craft at a ridiculous price...  It was just a matter of deciding on a lay out and adding a sentiment stamp in a colour to match the papers.  Of course I just had to e-mail in a piccie of the card to one of the  Do-Craft shows on Create and Craft.

something different

MMMM
 not too sure about this one but it's all about the trying new things and getting those fingers inky!

I've alway's kept away from diagrams and templates,,, make my brain cell ache too much.  Then along came a CD called 'candy doodles' by Polkadoodles...  yummy papers, digi's and yep, that thing called a template.  The only problem was it looked too fab and too easy to be any problem.

I printed off the template and then used kraft card from Creata as the birdhouse... I stamped onto it using a wood effect stamp from Visible Image .  Then I used polka dot card and die cut some ivy leaves and other foliage.  I distressed some of the Doobadoo honeycomb and added it to the house with flower embellishments and some tiny pearls.  The Doobadoo products can be purchased from Polkadoodles.

I am entering this birdhouse into the following challenges ;

June 'sisters of craft' challenge

Oh wow, what a great start we had to the first challenge.  Thank you everyone who entered.

The challenge for June is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine.  Here is my make with one of her fab images.

This is actually a gift bag.  I thought I would make one for boys seeing as they are left out so much in the craft world.  The image is ofcourse from Lacy Sunshine and  available at;

I coloured the image with pro-markers and spectrum noir pencils (first attempt and yep,,, I need the practice).  The bag was first given a layer of black mirror card from Creata, then I added kraft card and corrugated card from Creata, which I stamped using a brick stamp from Visible Image, I also used the paint tin, brush, roller and painted area along with the splats from Visible Image.  Available at;

I really hope you will pop over to the 'sisters of craft' challenge and join us to win a fab prize.... all levels of craft are welcome.. :)

A Polkadoodle/Doobadoo make :)

Just received some Doobadoo goodies through the post, so I just had to play.

I've used a brown bag and added cream card and the dotty card is from Polkadoodles work and play cd,, one of the yummy backing papers.  The image is from Polkadoodles 'Dollie daydream goes east' cd, coloured in pro-markers.  The sentiment is from the same cd.  The tea pot is from the Doobadoo starter kit and the swirls on the handle are also yummy Doobadoo.  The buttons are Papermania from Do-crafts and the pearls are from 'the hobby house' .  The wooden cup and teapot are from Hobbycrafts.

In case you can't see the sentiment it reads;  When your day seems topsy turvey and as stormy as the sea, there's nothing quite as tranquil as a lovely cup of tea.

Thought the bag could hold some nice camomile tea and bubble bath for someone to have a relaxing day.

I will be entering the bag into the following challenges.

Mad as a hatter

My make today is purely for fun.  I set myself the challenge of it not be a square card (as i'm addicted to 8x8), I also told myself to try and stick to one colour and to use several different brands of products within the card.

Hope you like it.

To start I used a Spellbinders grande die for cutting the mirror card (CREATA) and the polka dot card by Anne-Marie designs - both available through Create and Craft.  The card stock was simply layered up and then I put a Creata die under the digi image to give a final lift..  the digi image is available from; The paper shelter.  It was coloured using mainly green tones of pro-markers.  The die cut teapot and teacup are from Tonic and the the stamped sentiment is from and amazing Alice in Wonderland stamp set from Polkadoodles.  Finally a few gems added to the bottom left and right of the card and die-cut butterflies by Marianne designs used at the top of the card.

Polkadoodles digi

Oh wow, the fab Polkadoodles have an amazing offer on this digi, so it would have been very rude not to purchase it.

I used a white 8x8 card and layered two different tones of Creata mirror card.  I then used a Creata cup stamp to make the backing sheet, it was stamped using Tim Holtz distress inks, marmalade and rusty hinge.  I then used a Sheena Douglas crackle stamp in the same two tones.

Then it was down to the exciting bit of colouring, wanted to keep the colours to a minimum.  I then used Creata organza and ran it through the Joy and joined the different size flowers together with a screw brad and added flourishes again from Creata.  I will be heating the organza with a heat gun and giving a more distressed look.

I shall be entering this card into the challenge at ;  http://polkadoodle.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/wk-4-polkadoodles-challenge-anything.html

Am now working on my next Polkadoodles image, sneaky peek...

mixing it up

Now for what I love, letting all the different brands work together to create a card.  On  this card I have used stamps from; Creata, Visible Image and Indigo blu.

Sometimes it's nice just to stamp, no colouring or distressing, just simple stamping as it looks so effective on the creata craft card.  The wood stamp is from a fantastic set from Visible Image and forms a major part of the card, the horse is from Creata and the rest are from a stamp set from Indigo blu.  The flower at the top is a decoupage die from Creata.

Enjoying some chill out time crafting.  Have used a Glamoureyes digi;  available from http://glamoureyes.myshopify.com/

Coloured using pro-markers.  The kraft card stock is from Creata available through Createandcraft.tv, also used Creata 3d stickers.  The backing papers and decoupage are from Pinflair, also available from Create and craft.tv

Visible Image

Time to play with some of my Christmas presents that my dear Dad got me before he passed away on new years day this year..

loved using the Isabella stamp along with the rose stamp, which is designed so it can be layered easily.  I have used Creata mirror card and papers with the Visible Image stamps.

Now this Molly stamp has to be my favourite Visible Image stamp.  Have coloured using pro-markers and added dies from Creata online and Creata mirror card.

Am entering the Isabella card into the Visible Image challenge for January.  at ;  http://visibleimage.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/january-challenge-visible-image.html
