31 days of Halloween

Yep, it's that time of year again for Smeared inks Halloween blog hop and this year i'm so excited to be taking part in it over at Airless Chambers.

I chose two of Rick's digi images for this make.  The adorable Mr Modo and I used half of the Cemetary arch.

To start off with I used my ever so faithful pro-markers to colour in the digi's. The main part was using a tag which I covered in a crackle paint to distress, then added three different distress inks. I added some of the green frantage at the bottom over the base of the Tim Holtz grave stones. Some of the paint has been sanded for a more distressed look.  I hope you enjoy my make and head over to the hop to makes sure you see everyone's amazing work.

Sparkle and Glitter

Hi crafter's,

Time again for the 'sparkle and glitter' progressive challenge.  The design team used an Alice image.  Did you know that Rick St Dennis has created  a handbag sized Alice colouring book, it can be purchased here.

Here is my creation using Alice.

I decided to make a gift bag and go for a bold looking version of her complete with a RSD tattoo.
I hope you visit the other creations from the design team and join in the challenge.

BeeCrafty stamp

Now this has to be one of my fave stamps.  The poor thing is probably in dire need of a rest.  Hope the makes help you to love the image and to get hooked on BeeCrafty goodies.

Why not pop on over to the facebook group and see what other crafter's have made and the amazing design team.

Recent makes

Sparkle and Glitter post

Time again to post in the 'sparkle and glitter' blog. I hope you take the time to pop on over and leave a comment and check out some of the amazing previous postings.

I chose the strong character of Victoria McSteeme to work with.

Victoria was coloured using limited colours with pro-markers, I'm sure she wouldn't have approved if I had not been frugal.  The papers used were a gift from a craft friend Anne Chilvers, thanks Anne.

Seeing as Victoria looks so dramatic I could see her treading the boards in a musical, hence the wooden effects sentiment to tie in with the theme.  I added more texture using screw brads and a tiny padlock.

Please feel free to check out Rick's facebook group.

Recent makes

Tic Tac Poe....

Pardon the play on words, I couldn't resist it.  I used the fabulous Poe digi by Rick St Dennis, available here.

I used lime dylusions paint as a base then added waxes, distress inks using stamps and masks.  The bird stamp and feather hopefully tie in with the Raven.

I also used one of my favourite dies , the barbed wire. I will be entering this into the following challenges.

progressive challenge

Time to play with yet another stunning digi from Rick St Dennis.  This time I had to choose the gorgeous Cassiopea.

Just couldn't resist this image, I mean wow... what hair! The first option was to be subtle tones throughout, but really? me and subtle?  I used a cream 8x8 card blank and added some Anne Marie Designs canvas card and pattern card in co-ordinating colour tones. Before adding the top card I used a Sue Wilson die to give the effect of a lattice type window just behind Cassiopea.  The ivy die is also from Sue Wilson. and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The image was coloured in limited colour tones using pro-markers.

Please come and visit the Sparkle and Glitter blog, or if you prefer the darker side of craft, then come over to Airless chambers.

Strega

Time for my blog post over at Airless Chambers and the excuse to use one of Rick St Dennis macabre digi's called STREGA who can be found here.https://www.zibbet.com/rick1949/strega-digital-stamp-2-versions

I had great fun with my pro-markers and Spectrum noir pencils.  A Tim Holtz die was used for the gravestones, which also had a mixture of rock salt, sand and acrylic paint added for texture..Such a pretty girl she is .... remember you can come and join the facebook group for Rick , simply click here.

Sparkle and Glitter

Well I've just blogged for the first time as a member of the Elite Design Team for Rick St Dennis.  If you've come here from the blog I explain a bit more about the items used.

If you have yet to visit Sparkle and Glitter please click here.  To purchase 'Il Segreto' she can be found at the Zibbet store.

I normally colour with pro-markers and then give some definition with the pencils.  So this was new to me.   I used an 8x8 card blank, added some Graphic45 embossed and sanded card stock, then some of Anne  Marie's polka dot card.  The flowers and leaves were bought pre-made from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The swirls of green gems are from Scrapberry's and the larger green pearls are from a necklace I had.

I would like to thank my craft friends/family who have already started to get some of Rick's digi's and support my DT position.. don't forget you can join in the fun at the facebook group.

SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

I am so happy to have been asked to join the Elite Design Team , to showcase the totally stunning and original work by Rick St Dennis.  From cute, to quirky, to theatrical to the macabre, an artist who wears many a crafting hat.

The image I used for my recent make is called 'Musetta', such a stunning image.  To get hold of her yourself, please find her here.

The image was such a joy to colour.  To start I had a cream 8x8 card blank, I then added a texture paper, that also had a bit of a bronze gleam to it.  Distressed paper was added, along with some Tim Holtz ephemera.

Musetta was coloured using my faves, pro-markers with a touch of black pencil on the hair.  Bronze items were added to give a bit of different texture on the card along with the fibres under the topper.

I didn't want anything on the card to subtract from the main image, which I believe is a stunner of a digi.
Why not check out the store and also drop by the facebook group, we'd love to see you there.

Kenny K digi

KennyK digi make

Discovered I was behind in my Kenny K digi collection, so did what a crafter has to do and ordered.

Tried to go for a bit of 'pop art' look to it.  The splat stamp is from Ditze Designs  available at That Craft Place.  Colour tones kept to a minimum.  I have entered this into the KennyK challenge.  Hope you like it x

new release from Slinky Tarts

New release time over at Slinky Tarts,  The image is called 'holy shirt'.

I coloured the digi using minimal colours as I wanted the main focus on  the bright funky blues and highlighting the piercings.

I used polka dot card to layer up and several stamps from Visible Image for the sentiment and backgrounds.

Please check out the blog and see what other makes the Design Team has come up with.

Slinky Tarts

Time for another play with one of the Slinky Tart digi's...  This time it's 'Keeley' who can be found here.

Decided to give a delicate look to her, using soft shades with pro-markers and soft polka dot papers.  The dies added a delicate feel and just had to play around with some textures.

I hope you like the make and check out the images.

New Year with Slinky Tart's

New Year , New Start with Slinky Tart's

Yes, you read it right.  I'm proud to be a member of the design team of The Slinky Tarts.

For fab-u-lous and slightly risque digi's, come and check them out here.

I used the fabulous 'Rocking Mom' image.  She was coloured using pro-markers. I've been playing with different skin tones for the new year and have even used my cricut. Although I may need a new blade.

I used an 8x8 card blank and added some blue card which has been embossed with roses for added texture.  I also used some fab corrugated red card.  The dots were done with a stamp from Visible Image. the sentiment was also from them.

I hope you like my make and come and see what's going on in our Slinky Tarts fb page.
